Eight players have a chance to win the coveted title at the 2023
World Grand Prix. Michael van Gerwen was the bookies' favorite prior to the tournament, but 'Mighty Mike' was surprisingly eliminated in the second round on Thursday night.
World number one Michael Smith is still in the tournament, but the betting shops are now assigning Gerwyn Price the highest probability of taking the overall win at the double-in double-out tournament.
Price sits currently at 15/8 with title sponsors, Boyle Sports. While Michael Smith is second on 3/1. Luke Humphries follows at 10/3, while similar prices can be found for Peter Wright, Chris Dobey and Joe Cullen. They sit at 10 and 11/1 respectively.
The value comes from the outsiders mainly which feature that aforementioned trio as well as Martin Schindler and Andrew Gilding. Both are at 25/1 and will be the players seen as least likely to scoop the crown.
This is despite Gilding in particular currently being a major champion and alongside Dobey and Smith, the only current one in the field.
