In this tournament, among other things, all television finalists seal qualification. Michael van Gerwen had already qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton because of his title at the Players Championship Finals at the end of 2022.
For Gilding, it will be his second participation at the prestigious tournament, which traditionally begins with a group stage. In 2018, he also qualified but lost in the group stage.
In addition to Van Gerwen and Gilding, Michael Smith, Chris Dobey, Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross, Josh Rock and Nathan Girvan have already secured a spot.
