Gerwyn Price caught headlines for the wrong reasons after his victory over Jose de Sousa to reach the Quarter-Finals at the 2022/23 PDC
World Darts Championship.
Price made a gesture which was apologized for by Sky Sports which was construed as offensive on social media potentially towards disabled people. The PDC as a result made a statement with Price apologizing for all distress caused and that it wasn't meant to cause offence.
"Gerwyn has been reminded of the standards expected of him as a professional," the statement read as per
Mirror.
"He has stressed to us that it was a spontaneous gesture and he did not intend for it to cause offence.
"He is upset to think that anyone may think otherwise and would like to apologise sincerely for any distress he may have caused."
