Heaver exceeded expectations in making PDC World Darts Championship debut: "I expected to be on the Challenge Tour"

Jason Heaver made his PDC World Darts Championship debut in seeing off Gordon Mathers on Sunday afternoon in his debut year on the PDC Tour.

Heaver discussed the nerves in making his debut post match and believes he can go forward from here.

"It was very scary up there. I was so worried about the crowd but to be fair, the crowd was actually all right tonight so it's good really," said Heaver post match.

"It's actually alright, it was better than what I thought it was going to be up there so it was good. I didn't play as well as I can but that was due to nerves but I think next time will be a lot easier."

He also discussed his goals for the first year and how in reality, he has exceeded them by reaching the tour in the first place.

"I've exceeded my goals, I never expected to be here. I expected to be on the Challenge Tour so it's been good."
