Damon Heta saw off Gordon Mathers in an all-Aussie clash and will now face Michael van Gerwen this evening at the
World Series of Darts Finals with 'The Heat' admitting he just lacks consistency at times with his game.
"I've lacked a couple of games where I've scored well but not checked out well and then I score well and don't check out well. I've got a bit of an up and down thing going on but when it comes together, I feel real confident about it," said Heta to Online Darts.
Going home for the World Series after spending two years in the UK, Heta didn't get a win but called it a 'bonus' after moving over during COVID-19.
"The darts was a bit of a bonus compared to seeing all my family and friends. I had to juggle seeing everybody, that was the biggest thing rather than the darts. I played well in the World Series, I was probably just unstuck about not getting a win but I'm not too disheartened. I know what I'm back for and what I've got to achieve."
