Gerwyn Price has won the 21st Players Championship of the year. 'The Iceman' defeated Daniel Klose 8-6 in the final.
The highest average of the day also came in Price's name. In a 6-0, whitewash opening round victory against Cameron Menzies, the Welshman averaged 108.65.
The second and third highest averages were for Gary Anderson. In the last 64, he defeated Jules van Dongen 6-2, posting a 108.55 average. In the last 32, Anderson was 6-3 too strong for Graham Hall, posting a 107.11 average.
Yet those highest averages proved not enough for Anderson to win the tournament, as he went down 6-4 against Daryl Gurney in the last sixteen. Anderson averaged 105.26 in that match, but Gurney did even better with 106.01.
