Kim Huybrechts has continued his resurgence so far at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship and is confident ahead of a tie with Ryan Searle.
Huybrechts defeated tenth seed Ian White in the second round and he has the belief that his practice will reap rewards.
“Lately I have been doing really well on training and the art is simply to be able to transfer the training into competitions. That is not always that simple, there is a completely different stress involved, but I am really training really well and working really hard for it. They always say that if you work hard, you will one day get the reward and now the time has come ”, says Huybrechts at VTM Nieuws .
'The Hurricane' is currently in the top-5 in terms of averages at this World Cup, but is also realistic. "The way I play now, I can still get far - provided I keep this level. It will only get harder and harder, the better players are coming. We'll see where the ship ends up."
In the third round, the 35-year-old Belgian will take on Ryan Searle on Sunday. “I'm doing really well, the confidence is really good and I'm just going to play a strong match again. It will take a strong Searle to beat me. He can certainly do that, but I can also just continue my strong game. So there are certainly opportunities. ”
