WDF World Champion Andy Baetens is now a PDC Tour Card holder. The Belgian won through Day 3 of European Q-School on Saturday to claim a spot on the Pro Tour outright.
"I didn't play good for two days but today I played very good. So I'm proud to get my Tour Card today," reflected the Lakeside champion in conversation with the PDC after his victory in the final of Day 3, over Radek Szaganski.
Although Baetens came into Q-School one of the favourites to secure a place on the PDC Tour, after two days he was pointless in the Order of Merit and really had his back to the wall. "There was a little bit of pressure today," he admits. "But I played well so I'm glad to stand here and say I got a Tour Card."
"Earlier today I was 4-0 behind (against Michael Unterbuchner ed.) and I came back to win 6-5," Baetens recalls. "But I got through so I'm happy today."
