Jonny Clayton has qualified for second round of the World Series of Darts Finals. Despite not being at his best, 'The Ferret' was too strong for Martin Schindler in the opening round, 6-3.
"I don't know if I played well there, I don't think so but I got through and that's all that counts," Clayton opened his post-match interview with Online Darts. "Martin didn't play his game but I don't care about that, I just want to win."
Clayton recently had to deal with private problems and is thankful to be back focusing on his darts. "I've had some tough times and u just want to get back into it," he says. "It's always hard you know, it's never going to be good but now it's back to darts and I'm going to try my best."
Clayton won this tournament in 2021; the year before and the year after, Gerwyn Price won. "It would be nice to continue that Welsh tradition this weekend," Clayton laughed. "Gerwyn has also been in excellent form in recent weeks, so who knows, maybe it will work out."
