Vincent van der Voort is in the final months of his professional darts career. The 48-year-old Dutchman has decided to take a sabbatical year and will see if he will possibly return to the professional level afterwards. Van der Voort will finish the World Championship qualifying tournament at the end of this month and then possibly the World Darts Championship, but after that he will call it a day. Meanwhile, he is a sought-after analyst on television and podcasts.
Van der Voort is known for his sharp but honest opinions. "I just give my opinion and say what I think," Van der Voort said in the podcast 'Darts Draait Door'.
Those sharp statements regularly cause swells, for example, there was even an uproar in England because he had balked at PDC president Barry Hearn. "I've always been honest about what's going on. Then people are quick to say I'm looking for an excuse. Always being honest isn't always good either, I've learned that in my life. I'm just not good at keeping things to myself. People get mad at me sometimes and I don't think that's going to get any better with this podcast."

Sincere
"We're only in week five and I've already pissed off quite a few people," Van der Voort continued. "But they have to realize that what I say here is sincere. I'm not saying this to undermine or damage people. It iss just my opinion and you can disagree with that too, thats fine."
