Ross Smith heads into the Quarter-Finals of a PDC TV tournament for the second time later today at the European Championship after seeing off Dimitri van den Bergh in a 10-8 win.
A high quality affair, it was edged by 'Smudger' with the aid of a 100.7 average and eight 1`80's and afterwards he said he has a no fear attitude and knows that it works both ways in that he knows he can beat anyone.
"It was a bit nerve wracking but I'm just thrilled to get through. Obviously defeating Dimitri (van den Bergh), he is not only a fantastic player but he's also genuinely one of the nicest guys you can meet in darts so I was well happy to win that," said Smith to Online Darts.
"I told myself I knew I was miles away in certain legs and it just wasn't happening and I just went just forget it get on with the next one."
"I never fear playing anyone anyway and that's no disrespect to any of the players. I know I can beat them, I've got every confidence of beating anyone in front of me but I also have the respect of knowing that they can beat me if I'm not on my game."
