Peter Wright proved too strong for Rowby-John Rodriguez as he reached the Quarter-Finals of the European Championship in a 10-4 win as he surged past the Austrian.
"I started to find treble 20 and started to hit 180's which is really good but in between wasn't really good but I'm still here," said Wright to Online Darts.
As ever, there is always tinkering with the World Champion and he said that he has been cycling through different sets with ones that he won the World's with being altered and a new set ready for Ally Pally.
"I used the Venoms in Gibraltar and the floor tournaments in Barnsley. But I was dropping the first darts below and giving people too many chances. People shouldn't be getting close to me and it was my fault for not putting the first one in treble 20 so I picked up these before I went out and I was two 180's away in winning the World's from Gary Anderson's record. I picked them up and they felt lovely and I could place the darts but the first two games here I'm not placing them. The feeling will come."
"I've got a new dart coming for the World Championship which is based off that. I should have them just before the Grand Slam. I think I've improved and I think I can only get better. I believe I can get a lot, lot better."
