Jenkins and Askew claim consecutive wins, Monk adds first points with victory over Collins

Askew began where he left off from his first victory which saw him see off Paul Nicholson to start the day in impressive style with a dramatic win over Arron Monk.

He started brilliantly hitting a 125 checkout but Monk hit back smashing in a 145 checkout to lead 2-1 and break throw.

Askew broke back immediately and went one away from there with another break but Monk himself put it back to 4-3 with a 15-darter and after the former squandered five match darts, the former World Youth Champion helped himself to a decider.

Askew though just took it in the end to add further points to the board and deny Monk a first win of the day at the death.

Jenkins also made it back to back victories by seeing off Paul Nicholson in a 5-2 win which saw him average 96.4 and hit three 180's in an impressive display especially in the latter end of the match when he really began to start firing on all cylinders.

Then Monk returned to action against Rob Collins with both players not having a win to their name so far today and it was the former who claimed it in a 5-2 win with a 94 average, 5/9 on the doubles; which included en route, two ton plus checkouts, including a 147.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
