Joe Cullen ends Ross Smith's run, set to face Michael Smith in semi-finals after easing past Danny Noppert

Joe Cullen will face Michael Smith in the second semi-final at the International Darts Open in Riesa with the winner set to face Michael van Gerwen or Mensur Suljovic in the final.

Cullen defied a 100 average from Ross Smith in a quality tie where 'The Rockstar' hit two 180's and 46% on the doubles including a high checkout of 106.

It is the end of a brilliant run for 'Smudger' despite not making it through which has seen him qualify for the European Championship and among his performances included a 112 average and a brilliant win over Gerwyn Price.

While for Michael Smith, he eased past a below-par Danny Noppert in a 6-1 win with a 98.5 average to claim his best run in a while on the European Tour which has seen him drop four legs all weekend.

He averaged 98 with 50% on the doubles while for Noppert, he hit 1/8 on the doubles which proved to be his downfall.
