After winning his third PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour title of the year last weekend, Marko Kantele is well on his way to securing a spot at the World Darts Championship.
The experienced Finnish player blew Jeffrey de Graaf away in the final of event six. Kantele secured a 6-1 victory to claim his third title in six events. In his four previous appearances at the Alexandra Palace, the 54-year-old is to taste victory.
Kantele suffered a 3-1 defeat in the first round of the 2009 PDC World Darts Championship to Ronnie Baxter. Nine years later he was back but a whitewash defeat to John Henderson made sure it wasn't a happy return. William O'Connor proved to have too much for him in 2020, winning 3-0 before in his most recent appearance at the Ally Pally, John Henderson was again Kantele's first-round opponent with the Fin losing 3-2.
