Mervyn King is through to the Quarter-Finals of the
World Series of Darts Finals after a superb victory over Madars Razma as he continued his streak of not dropping a leg as of yet.
King spoke afterwards and said he didn't think that was in the offing when he arrived for the weekend's action in Amsterdam.
"I turned up yesterday and I thought do you know what these are going alright, they are going ok and I'll quite fancy this. Whether it's a 6-5, 6-3 whatever but 6-0 against James Wade, I don't know what it was today could have been 70 (average) I don't care but another game 6-0, what the hell is going on," said King to Online Darts.
Previously he admitted that Razma had played him off the board in tournaments but he was glad to get one over the Latvian on stage.
"If someone's going go, there you go 6-0, you're going to go thanks very much I'll see you Sunday and that's exactly what I've done today. I played him a couple of times on the floor and he's absolutely battered me but I've never played him on the stage so now we played on the stage and there you go, have it in return."
Hostile atmosphere
Facing off now against Michael van Gerwen, King said he doesn't care about the hostile atmosphere and that he is just pleased to be through to the Sunday.
"If somebody would have told me I'd have been playing on the Sunday before we started I'll go thank you very much, I'll rip your arm off for that so whether it's a hostile atmosphere, I don't care."
