Adrian Lewis has returned tof rom of sorts in the past six months with some signs that 'Jackpot' of old is returning.
But now it is all about consistency and getting the luck for the double World Champion who believes it has to do with that as opposed to his game.
"There's nothing wrong with my game, you've just got to keep going and just keep working at it, keep putting the work in and just get a bit more consistency," said Lewis to Online Darts.
Missing World Matchplay
He missed the World Matchplay with his run of 16 appearances in a row ended and he believes that it was the difference between a run of events which due to the circumstances he was glad he didn't attend.
"If I'd have gone to Germany, maybe it could have been a different story but I'm glad I didn't go Germany because my wife ended up in hospital. I've been quite lucky really."
The debate roared on from last year which saw Lewis denied ranking money which could have gone a long way to helping him into Blackpool.
At the World Grand Prix, he was out due to Covid-19 so despite playing for two years to get in, he was denied the money.
"I think so because it's been over two years. We've got the ranking money from qualifying in the first place so it would have been fair. Nobody has prepared you so I can see their side of the story is."
Back to his best and with a vengeance
But he will now aim to put that disappointment behind him and is aiming to be back with a vengeance going forward.
"It's like a fresh start. That's how I see it now. I've got to start again, I've lost ranking money and everything else, most of it not down to the fault of my own. It's exciting times, I want to get up the top again.
"I think it could be better, just a lot more older now, a lot more experienced. Just got to get a bit of luck."
