Lloyd suggests expanded Premier League format: "I would actually have 16 players"

Colin Lloyd spent three years in Premier League Darts during his career and he has now called for some changes to occur.

Lloyd had an interesting proposal during the latest episode of The Darts Show podcast. "I would actually have 16 players. I'd have the top eight in the world then eight other. If you get a surprise major winner or someone who did consistently well, they can get in and I'd make it first to five," he said.

Lloyd also suggested that Clayton is now a marked man after becoming Premier League champion and that his status has now changed to which 'The Ferret' replied.

"I think I might hide for the first couple of tournaments, keep it low key. I am quite mouthy and I like to tease people. I've always said when I was walking into rooms you get a bit starstruck with all the big players and I've worked hard and I'm up there with the best now," said Clayton.
