In addition to the Sid Waddell Trophy for winning the world title,
Luke Humphries got to take home another trophy on Wednesday night. 'Cool Hand Luke' also captured the first Ballon D'Art award.
The name of this is a nod to the Ballon d'Or, the prize given annually to the best football player in the world. World Championship sponsor Paddy Power decided to give a Ballon d'Art to the player with the most 180s at the
World Darts Championship.
During the World Darts Championship, Humphries managed to throw the maximum score no fewer than 73 times. That amounts to a 180-score per 0.412 legs, an unprecedented average. Losing finalist
Luke Littler managed to produce a total of 63 180 scores during the tournament.
