Paddy Power donates one million pounds to charity after record number of 180s at World Darts Championships

The past edition of the World Darts Championship accounted for a record 914 maximum scores. That means that tournament sponsor Paddy Power will have to dig deep into its pockets.

The betting agency had pledged to transfer £1,000 for every 180 score to Prostate Cancer UK. This foundation funds research that keeps men from dying from prostate cancer.

The Ally Pally participants thus ensured that £914,000 had already been raised for Prostate Cancer UK. Paddy Power then decided to increase the amount to one million pounds.
