Luke Littler has now become a global brand due to his stark rise in the sporting world and with that also comes trademarks and protecting the brand. A new bar in his hometown of Warrington appears to pay homage to the 18-year-old but has been stopped in its tracks.
The logo for 'Nukes Sports Bar' which did the rounds had a striking likeness to the Nuke signature which adorns his shirt and the colours which he uses. The staff at the bar planned to wear outfits that are a reflection of the shirts worn by Littler which are a purple polo shirt with yellow logos featuring his nickname.
However Littler trademarked that nickname last year after his sudden rise to fame and this also included his logo and nickname to stop people using it in their tracks. The bar owner Owen Williams has now been hit with a letter sent by Littler's lawyers to stop using his likeness.
According to the owner, he didn't pick the name and it was done by a social media poll which appears now to have backfired. Williams is pleading Littler to change his mind and in Facebook comments, his parents have been tagged to try and remedy the situation.
"We are sure this isn't Luke himself and he would be proud to have a bar recognising his achievements," the Facebook page wrote.
"Lets tag him and see if we can stop the little man being crushed! Pray for the little man. Unfortunately we may have to change our name before it's even begun!"
With the stark rise of Littler though and him being open about not using social media aside from of course his TikTok to go live, it may not reach the 18-year-old and he may have to change his bar before it opens.
