Martin Schindler withdraws from Players Championship tournaments in Hildesheim due to illness

Martin Schindler has dropped out of the two Players Championship tournaments in Hildesheim, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. 'The Wall' is ill, he reported on his social media.

''It's the first time in 7.5 years that I cancel a tournament,'' Schindler wrote. ''Probably I have bronchitis, but I'll find out at the doctor's office on Monday. The whole situation had already started in Graz (late April, ed.) and I probably should have gone to the doctor right away last Monday, but I didn't think the situation was that bad. Unfortunately, the pain got worse from day to day, otherwise I would have taken action beforehand.''

Another Euro Tour tournament is scheduled later this week with the Baltic Sea Darts Open. ''I hope I will be fit again on Thursday and will be able to start in Kiel,'' Schindler concluded.
