Chris Mason won the weekly title in the MODUS Super Series last Saturday . 'The Ace', who entered for the first time this week, was the best on the final night in Portsmouth.
The best six players of the first five match days met each other on Saturday, divided into two groups during the final day of this match week.
In the first group it was Mark Dudbridge who convincingly made it to the semi-finals with victories over Gary Robson (4-2) and Andy Jenkins (4-0). Robson became the number two in this group after beating Jenkins (4-3).
In Group B, Mason, Tony O'Shea and Richie Howson all won 4-3 once. So a 9-dart shoot-out was involved. Mason scored the most points of the three and continued anyway. O'Shea and Howson were tied after nine darts, so they had to throw three more times. In the end, O'Shea along with Mason advanced to the final four.
In the first semi-final, O'Shea was 4-3 too strong for Dudbridge. Mason knocked out Robson after a decisive leg. The final was also over the full seven legs. Mason came out on top with 4-3 and thus booked a place in Champions Week.
