Murray - who is best known by many for having two nine-dart finishes hit against him by Michael van Gerwen in the same game made his own name for himself tonight seeing off not only Cullen; but also John Michael and Jermaine Wattimena as the rank outsider in the group.
He claimed two wins and one defeat to win it on leg difference; having claimed a pivotal win against Jermaine Wattimena 5-1 with a 96 average; which put him on four points.
The equation was simple as a result if Cullen beat John Michael or vice versa 5-0 they would win the group; any other result would gleam a group win for Murray; despite Cullen finishing with a flourish 5-3 with a 130 checkout on the bull, it wasn't enough.
Every evening, the four players will each face off; with each match being the best of nine legs. This group stage lasts 32 days with that amount of players set to reach the next round to play it out from there to crown a winner.
All players have webcams set up in their houses and say their scores out loud; to make sure that they can be inputted correctly without any cheating taking place.
With each night’s action commencing at 1930 BST, darts commentator Dan Dawson will be on hand to talk through proceedings; which will also include live score graphics on screen.
All PDC Home Tour action will be broadcast live on PDCTV for free to all registered PDCTV users; regardless of whether you have a paid or free membership.
