Nathan Aspinall and Martin Schindler are the next two names to have qualified for the last eight at the German Darts Grand Prix. Monday night they face each other in the quarter-finals of this Euro Tour tournament.
Aspinall handled Ross Smith in a strong match. With a 13-darter and a 14-darter, 'The Asp' broke his English compatriot twice in the first three legs. Then it was 4-0 with a 14-darter. In the end, the former UK Open champion won 6-2 with an average of 102.78.
Schindler won in front of his own crowd over Chris Dobey. The key moment in the match was the sixth leg, in which Schindler threw a 146 finish while Dobey was waiting on 40 to throw for a rebreak. It became 4-2, however, after which Schindler held on to that break and recorded a 6-4 win over 'Hollywood'.
