Geert Nentjes has claimed an impressive clean sweep in PDC Home Tour Group Four remaining unbeaten in reaching the second round.
Nentjes, a two time PDC Development Tour winner saw off
Mickey Mansell (5-4),
Lisa Ashton (5-3) and then finally
Ross Smith (5-3) to join
Jamie Lewis,
Luke Woodhouse and
Dave Chisnall in reaching the next phase so far in the
PDC Home Tour.
In seeing off Smith, he nearly faltered towards the end with him going 4-1 up but being pegged back by 'Smudger' who broke his throw with an excellent 110 checkout as he looked to send it all the way.
Nentjes missed more match darts when Smith had a slip into the one going for 106 but the latter couldn't punish and the 21 year old pinned double 10 for the victory.
Lisa Ashton was the big name coming into tonight and got into her stride after
Ross Smith eased past her in the opening match.
'The Lancashire Rose' lost out to the eventual winner Nentjes but then claimed victory over
Mickey Mansell to end the evening of the former PDC ranking winner and claim some points to take away from the evening.
The chasing pack were well behind Nentjes though with Ross Smith, Mickey Mansell and Lisa Ashton all tied on two points behind the eventual winner with six.
Tomorrow sees fans favourite
Devon Petersen, former PDC ranking winner
Joe Murnan, former WDF Number One,
Nick Kenny and World Youth Champion
Luke Humphries in what is a stacked line-up.
