Jeffrey de Zwaan said after his elimination from the
PDC World Darts Championship that he was pleased that he could see his girlfriend after five weeks. This is not now the case as his travel plans were halted.
"Suddenly everything closed," De Zwaan told NOS. He drove to the Channel Tunnel with his manager to make the crossing to Calais, but that was no longer possible. "When we got there the tunnel was closed, so we had to go back to the hotel."
The Black Cobra immediately contacted the Dutch embassy, who told him that traveling to England was at your own risk. There is therefore nothing left for De Zwaan and the rest of the eliminated players to do than stay in England for the time being.
A cozy Christmas dinner with the Dutch players is not possible. "You are only allowed to eat in your hotel room."
