Danny Noppert will play his opening match at the
World Matchplay on Sunday. 'The Freeze' reached the semi-finals there last year.
Noppert is already heading to Blackpool with confidence. "I'm looking forward to playing there again. Last year I had a good performance over there and reached the semi-finals. It was a great week and Blackpool of course, is a nice city to play in," said Noppert.
In his opening match, Noppert will take on Martin Schindler. "Any opponent would have been hard. It's only good players there but Schindler, I like him he's a good guy and we are friends with each other. Sunday we won't be friends on that stage but I'm looking forward to playing against him."
Premier League
Noppert won last year's UK Open, yet was not selected for this year's Premier League Darts. "That was a disappointment anyway," said the 32-year-old Dutchman. "I hope to be there someday in the future, although it did give me some more time with my family now, which was also enjoyable."
