Noppert keen to put on a strong performance in front of home crowd: "Obviously this creates extra pressure"

In front of a home crowd in Leeuwarden at the Dutch Darts Championship, Danny Noppert was a convincing 6-1 winner on Saturday afternoon over Madars Razma.

"I'm away from home a lot during the year, so it's extra special to play a tournament in Leeuwarden, just 25 minutes from where I live," Noppert told Darts Actueel. "Of course this creates some extra pressure, you still want to prove yourself to your home crowd. In the next round my level will have to go up a bit."

More rest

In that next round, Noppert will meet eighth seed Nathan Aspinall. "Actually, I don't care who I play against, they are all good players who are still in the tournament. I will certainly prepare well for that match, having to finish my opening match in the afternoon session ensures that I have more rest towards my next competition and that is a bonus."
