Fallon Sherrock has enjoyed a big rise in recent years and ever since her history making run at the World Darts Championship in 2020, has become one of the most recognisable faces on the darting circuit.
As she doesn't have a full time PDC Tour Card to fall on, a way Sherrock makes herself money in darts is via exhibitions. On Friday night, 'The Queen of the Palace' was at Mecca Bingo in Swansea at just such an exhibition, playing alongside the likes of Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Robert Thornton and even members of the packed out crowd in attendance.
"I've loved it being here and the crowd has been amazing!'' Sherrock said with a beaming smile on stage in conversation with Polly James before taking the win over two time World Seniors champion Robert Thornton, in a video posted on social media by MODUS. "The crowd are what makes it fun. You can hear everyone calling your name and it makes you perform well and want the 180s."
Although, as mentioned, Sherrock is now one of the most recognisable names in darts, it's not that long ago that she was the other side of the exhibition circuit, paying to see her idols and even playing some of them on stage as a fan. "I was that person trying to win raffle tickets and one night I got to play John Lowe," Sherrock recalls. "That was a while back, but it feels incredible to be that person that everyone wants to play now."
As for her plans for the rest of the year, Sherrock remains set on her main goal of ensuring a return to the scene of her greatest ever triumph, the Alexandra Palace and the PDC World Darts Championship in December. "Hopefully I'll still quality for the worlds. Hopefully," she concludes with a smile.
