PDC European Tour Order of Merit: Luke Humphries regains top spot, Gary Anderson flies to third

Gary Anderson made a big jump on the PDC European Tour Order of Merit after "The Flying Scotsman" won the European Darts Grand Prix on Sunday night.

In the final of the Euro Tour tournament in Sindelfingen, Anderson won 8-6 over Ross Smith, taking the top prize of 30,000 pounds. As a result, Anderson moved up from 30th place to third. With a total of 34,000 pounds, Anderson still has to beat Luke Humphries (44,000 pounds) and Martin Schindler (41,000 pounds). Humphries has thus regained the lead position after briefly losing it to Schindler last week.

Gerwyn Price is number four on the Euro Tour Order of Merit with 33,000 pounds. Teenage sensation Luke Littler scooped 2,500 pounds last weekend and is now in fifth place with 32,500 pounds. Behind that follow Rob Cross and Ross Smith, before Michael van Gerwen is the highest-ranked Dutchman in eighth position. Right behind that is compatriot Danny Noppert, while Stephen Bunting completes the top ten.

After four Euro Tour tournaments, there are still three players who participated in all events but do not yet appear on the Euro Tour Order of Merit. Dirk van Duijvenbode, Krzysztof Ratajski and Andrew Gilding had automatically qualified for the first four Euro Tours, but also lost their opening matches each time.

At the end of the season, the 32 best players in the rankings will compete in the European Championship in Dortmund. This tournament is scheduled from Oct. 24 to 27.
