Price after surviving comeback from Chisnall to reach World Grand Prix final: "I thought I'd bombed the opportunity"

Gerwyn Price will be in the World Grand Prix Final on Monday evening against Dirk van Duijvenbode but it nearly wasn't the case against Dave Chisnall.

Chisnall came back for the third day running from 3-1 down but missed three match darts allowing Price to get away with it in the final leg.

'The Iceman' who will be favourite to add another major title to his list against the Dutchman thought he'd blown his opportunity and was frustrated that he couldn't get it done when he had the chance originally.

"I thought I was out," said Price. "I thought I'd bombed the opportunity, and you could see by my reaction at the end that I was relieved.

"I knew Dave was playing well and having a bit of luck because I was struggling to start in the last few sets. I put myself under a lot of pressure and gifted him two sets.

"I thought I played well to put myself 3-1 up but Dave was playing well and hit some big checkouts, and I was thinking that it wasn't going to be my night.

"I should be experienced enough to deal with that and get the job done, but I stuck in there until the end and had a little bit of luck in the last leg, so I'm over the moon."
