Price comfortably through to second round at World Matchplay despite Bunting's mindgames: "It affected him a little bit more than it affected me"

Gerwyn Price has convincingly made it through to the second round of the World Matchplay. 'The Iceman' defeated Stephen Bunting 10-3 in his opening match.

"I was a little slow out of the blocks. Then slow after the first break and slow after the second break. I'm probably just trying to get some rhythm. " Price opened. "I think Stephen was pulling some darts out slower than normal as well. People have to do what they've got to do to try and win but it affected him a little bit more than it affected me."

The crowd was on Price's side. "I wasn't sure what to expect. I've been getting a good crowd all year so I wasn't sure if was going to come to the Matchplay and get boos. As soon as I got on stage they were all behind me which was fantastic."

In the second round, Price will take on Joe Cullen. "If I take my chances and score well, then yeah I'll think I'll come through."
