Price considered throwing with ear defenders on: "But the easy win made it unnecessary in the end"

Gerwyn Price was too strong for Raymond van Barneveld in the third round of the PDC World Darts Championship on Tuesday night. The Iceman was prepared for anything.

Afterwards, Price said he briefly considered throwing with ear defenders on. "If Raymond had been in the match better and the crowd had turned against me more, I probably still would have done it. But now it wasn't necessary."

"And by the way, it's not just about headphones, but then I put in earplugs. I first tried it at home during the Christmas break just with earplugs in, but then I still heard too much. With the headphones in, I couldn't even hear my kids anymore; then I knew it would work well, haha," Price says.

Wrong image

Price is thoroughly tired of being seen as the villain. "People have a wrong image of me based on one or two little things that happened a few years ago. I would love a chance to show who I really am."
