Gerwyn Price and
Dirk van Duijvenbode have continued their respective form by reaching the third round at the
International Darts Open in Riesa.
Price who won the title last week by seeing off Van Duijvenbode produced a 104 average and a checkout percentage of 60% as he saw off the European Champion, Ross Smith in a 6-3 win. It was a first win too over 'Smudger' since 2015 as he hunts for back-to-back
European Tour titles.
While after being left distraught after missing match darts last weekend, Van Duijvenbode will aim to bounce back and started out with a 6-3 win over home hero Gabriel Clemens.
Van Duijvenbode quickly silenced the whistling from the German audience by taking a 5-1 lead with a 70 check-out, 119 finish and two 13-darters.
However, two sloppy legs by the Dutchman allowed Clemens to come back to 5-3, but then Van Duijvenbode was back on track and started the ninth leg with a 180. With a 15-darter, Van Duijvenbode eventually decided the game.
