Most top darters who have travelled to New Zealand and Australia for World Series tournaments use their free time to visit some local attractions and regularly sling some fun snapshots on social media.
Gerwyn Price, however, is keeping away from the sights of New Zealand and Australia. Unlike last year, he has also left his family at home this time around. Speaking with Online Darts, the Welshman says he is mostly putting in hours of sleep on the other side of the world.
''If they were with they'd probably have got me out of bed,'' he laughs. ''That's all I've done is sleep. It's nice to have them with you sometimes but I'm here to work, to earn some money and here to do a job.''
The plan was for "The Iceman" to hang out with Jonny Clayton in "Down Under. However, Clayton had to cancel the trip to Australia and New Zealand due to sad family circumstances.
''Obviously, I get on with the other boys as well. Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith, Rob Cross as well but it's unfortunate Jonny couldn't come. It would have been a bit more company if Jonny was here as well."
Price had a disappointing World Matchplay in July with a second-round elimination against Joe Cullen. 'The Iceman' hopes to be firing again 'Down Under', but must first make sure things calm down a bit in his head.
"I just want to get my house finished, get that out my head. That's what is costing me lately, I'm constantly thinking about home and things that have got to be done. Quicker I can get it finished the better, then I can just fully concentrate on the back end of this year."
