Raman and Van Dongen rise significantly in world rankings after German Darts Open

Brian Raman and Jules van Dongen have both had Tour Cards for two years, but look set to lose them at the end of the year. However, both players have recently found good form and could still turn the tide.
Raman reached his first quarter-final with the PDC at the German Darts Open. He defeated big names like Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall. Due to his poor performance over the past two years, Raman seems to be losing his Tour Card, but his performance last weekend puts him a lot closer to qualifying for the World Championship.
The same goes for Jules van Dongen, who reached the second round at the German Darts Open. The Dutch-American dart player will probably lose his Tour Card, but has moved up in the rankings due to recent good results on the Pro Tour and can hope for World Championship participation at the end of the year. Van Dongen is also just outside qualifying for the Players Championship Finals.
The U.S. number one indicated in an interview with 433 darts that his confidence has grown a lot over the past period. The World Championship is now his main goal: ''If I just win every Players Championship a round, that's normally enough. If I can keep my current form and get a bit lucky with the draw, that should be an achievable goal''.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
