Raymond van Barneveld arranges shirt swap with Tottenham star after World Darts Championship victory

Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van der Ven on Friday night saw Raymond van Barneveld win gloriously in his first match at the 2024 World Darts Championship. The Dutchman defeated Radek Szaganski 3-1 in sets after a strong match.
Afterwards, Viaplay had a private chat with the five-time world champion and the Dutch international. Van der Ven was hoping to receive the shirt from 'Barney,' but didn't dare ask. Reporter Arjan van der Giessen decided to give him a hand. "He wants your shirt," Van der Giessen told Van Barneveld, who honored the request. "The shirt I just played in is for you."

Van der Ven then also promised to send a shirt of his own toward Van Barneveld's side. But the Dutch darts pioneer hoped for more. ''Also a match once. I'm often in London, so it would be nice to come and watch once.'' That got an immediate response from Van der Ven: ''We're going to arrange that,'' the top defender responded.
Van Barneveld then made another promise to come give darts lessons one day. ''But I'm not cheap,'' Van Barneveld laughed. 'Barney' will be back in action at the World Darts Championship after Christmas. Then a meeting with Jim Williams awaits.

- Am probably going to be in a small minority, i would not miss the walk ons, best part used to be the lovely ladies which obviously now makes me a misogynist. Its all part of the razzamatazz show business side and its not that long so not something that winds me up however some of the walk on choices are abysmal while some work, MVG and Seven Nation Army being an example.
