With it being a week off the darts tour as the road to the World Matchplay continues, Gerwyn Price and Raymond van Barneveld led an exhibition in Brentwood on Saturday night ran by MDA and MODUS.
Price and Van Barneveld both produced blockbuster displays in different matches with the latter against the 'The Iceman' in the leading tie of the night.
To start the night, Richie Howson was victim to a 3-0 defeat against Price with 'The Iceman' averaging 112 in victory. He hit three 180's in the ruthless win. While Stephen Bunting eased past Steve West in a 3-1 win.
Raymond van Barneveld played out a narrow win over former World Matchplay and World Grand Prix champion Colin Lloyd 3-2. Bobby George also made an appearance. Ricky Evans eased past Stephen Bunting 6-3 before Van Barneveld and Price took to the stage for the final match of the night.
Van Barneveld in that one saw off Gerwyn Price 6-3 with three 180's for both players. But it was a near 10 point average differential as 'Barney' sealed a 6-5 win with a 104 average in the end compared to 94 for Price. Both now move on to the World Matchplay as does Stephen Bunting. Van Barneveld takes on Jonny Clayton, while for Price it is Daryl Gurney up first.
