Repeat or revenge? Gary Anderson and Ryan Searle face off in second straight Players Championship final

In a repeat of Players Championship 2, Ryan Searle and Gary Anderson face off in the final of Players Championship 3.

For Searle, it is his third consecutive final on the Players Championship circuit. Defeating Michael van Gerwen in the semis, van Gerwen was still leading 4-2 after six legs, but failed to hold his own leg in five visits in the eighth. Searle broke him back with a 13-darter, rebalancing the score.
With a 15-darter and a 14-darter, Searle then ran out to a 6-4 lead. Van Gerwen then was not out in six visits in the 11th leg, allowing Searle to throw himself into the final with a 19-darter.
In the final, Searle will once again face Gary Anderson. The two previously met in the final of Players Championship 2 and then Anderson won 8-5. The Flying Scotsman' convincingly defeated Callan Rydz to qualify for the final match. Thanks to an average of 111.71, Anderson put a 7-4 final score on the scoreboard.
