Rob Cross has qualified for the second leg of the World Darts Championship. With a 3-0 victory over Thibault Tricole, he secured a spot in the post-Christmas tournament.
However, very convincing was not the performance of the former world champion. In fact, the first set was deplorable from both players. However, despite an average of 77, "Voltage" managed to win the first set 3-0.
In set two, the level went up for the Englishman and the Frenchman. Tricole seemed to even the score, but gave away a 2-0 lead. With a fine 114 finish, Cross pulled the second set 3-2.
That proved to be the final blow, as Tricole could not recover. Cross won the third set 3-0, which also became the final score. In the next round of the World Darts Championship the number eight of the world will face the winner of the match between José de Sousa and Jeffrey de Graaf.
