Rob Cross is ready to get back to business in the 2019 PDC season.
Cross endured a mixed bag in 2018, culminating in his World Championship title defence ending at the last 16 stage. Yet Voltage still comfortably kept his spot in the world's top four, and will be battling for major titles again this season. The Hastings ace feels recharged, and is now gearing up for the Masters this weekend. "I feel fresh. I've had some lovely time off, leading up to that (the Masters)," Cross told ahead of Tuesday's Darts Slam exhibition in Prague. A new season also means new darts for Cross, who worked with sponsor Target Darts to put together a new setup. The darts, Cross admits, will still take a little bit of time to get accustomed to. "They've turned up about a week ago. I've not had much time with them, but they're going alright!" he said. The PDC Pro Tour season is notoriously fast-paced, especially for players in the top echelons. Cross will travel for the Premier League, the European Tour and the World Series across the year. That's without mentioning the 30 Players Championship events, stage events and majors, as well as the exhibitions the 2018 world champion will be invited to. "Obviously it's 49 weeks, pretty much flat-out," Cross surmised. "I'm looking forward to it. "I'm more relaxed this time around. I've had some great times at home in the last three weeks, and I'm ready to get back to work now. "Roll on the year!"
