The opening day of action at the
European Darts Open continues with
Josh Rock,
Scott Williams and
Dennis Nilsson finding their way into the second round.
Rock facing Connor Scutt was one of the highly touted ties of the opening round in Leverkusen but it was fairly one sided in favour of the rising Northern Irishman.
After a good start to the year, 'Sniper' Scutt has failed to find the mark losing at Lakeside last time he was on the stage and it was a similar tale this time as Rock won through 6-0 with a 98 average.
While armed with his Rupert the Bear trousers and Paul Nicholson socks, Scott Williams certainly aimed to make an impression and did so with his darts also.
The three-time Challenge Tour winner saw off Adam Gawlas 6-5 with a 98.6 average alongside six 180's as he carried his form onto the stage.
A familiar sight on the
European Tour stage is former strongman, Dennis Nilsson who saw off Martin Lukeman 6-3.
The recent European Tour finalist went 4-0 down and pulled it back to 4-3 but Nilsson broke to make it 5-3 with Lukeman missing the mark on 76 and held from there on double 18.
