Ryan Searle made an excellent start to the 29th
Players Championship tournament Wednesday afternoon. 'Heavy Metal' managed to throw an average of 116.36 in the first round of the floor tournament in Barnsley.
The Englishman played against
Martin Lukeman in his opening match and shot out of the starting blocks with two 11-darters and two 12-darters. His average was then over 130. A 13-darter then brought the score to 5-0.
Unfortunately, Searle could not maintain that bizarrely high level, and then lost two legs to Lukeman. Searle then recovered and took the match with a 13-darter.
