Callan Rydz is successfully through to a tie with James Wade in the second round at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after defeating James Bailey 3-1.
Bailey was noted for his slow style of play and Rydz said that he did notice tactics but that after a year on the tour, he knows how to deal with it.
"He came well the second set, he did try some tactics but I'm experienced now and understand players will try it," said Rydz post match.
"I've had a full year playing the best players in the World week in, week out. I had a good Winter Series, I beat Van Gerwen and that for me was a great test showing bottle that you can beat the best player in the World."
He also revealed that he suffered a BMX accident and has had to have metal plates in his foot ahead of an operation which he hopes he can prolong.
"It is what it is, when I get time in a few months, I will get the operation done but hopefully not until after New Year."
Ahead of that tie against Wade, 'The Riot' has a score to settle. "Wade beat me the last time I played him, I'm after a little bit of revenge now," he added.
