Seigo Asada won a tournament on the Japan Tour for the third time this season last weekend. There were also titles for Ryuta Arihara, Tomoya Goto and Kenichi Ajiki.
The Japan Tour was established for the first time this season. The circuit consists of ten ranking tournaments for Japanese players. After these tournaments, the 32 best players advance to the playoffs. On this final day, they then compete for a spot at the World Darts Championship.
On July 13 and 14, the second tournament weekend took place, again with four tournaments. Asada was successful once in those, becoming the only Japanese player with more than one title on the Japan Tour after two previous titles this year.
Arihara, Goto and Ajiki won the other three tournaments. They, like Mitsuhiko Tatsunami and Jun Matsuda, have now won one tournament on this circuit. On Sept. 7, the last two tournaments of the Japan Tour will be played. Then the playoffs will take place on Sept. 8.
