Jermaine Wattimena secured a shock spot in the last sixteen at the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich. In the second round, 'The Machine Gun' caused a surprise by eliminating Stephen Bunting.
A key moment in the match was the fourth leg, in which Bunting missed six chances to make it 2-2. However, Wattimena also had the necessary misses in that leg and took advantage of his sixth break opportunity. Moments later the darter from Westervoort scored a 20-darter to make it 4-2. Wattimena then stepped up a gear and made it 6-2 after a 12-darter and a 76 finish.
