Stompé wants to make comeback at World Seniors Darts Championship: 'I will definitely take that opportunity'

The World Seniors Darts Championship is set to take place in early 2022 and Co Stompé who announced his retirement at the start of 2021 is planning to make a comeback of sorts.

The tournament is organised by MODUS, a prominent darts management and events company alongside Snooker Legends who have created a prior tournament for the sport in question with great success.

If they are 50 or older and are not a member of the PDC, they are eligible for this tournament and with a Qualifying School available for the two spots not already invited, Stompé could battle it out for a place.

"I will certainly take that opportunity to try to qualify. Actually, I have been waiting for years for a 'Seniors Tour', said Stompé to RTL 7.

£ 25,000 for the winner

Stompé does not just want to participate, but is already looking further. "That main prize of £ 25,000 for the winner does appeal to me," he said with a laugh. "But I think it would be particularly fun to take on those old champions again."
