Phil Taylor has given his thoughts on the future of the PDC rankings with Peter Wright his pick to become the next World Number One overtaking Michael van Gerwen.

Wright of course claimed the World Championship at the start of the year and if he can have a dominant year, the gap can be cut further between the pair. 'The Power' himself also singled out Gerwyn Price for praise and a higher ranking himself.
"Peter Wright – he is going to be the one who takes over,’ said Taylor. "And Gerwyn Price won’t be far behind him.
"Good old Gezzy – everyone loves him or hates him, but I love him. I think he’s great to watch. "Yes, he goes a bit over the top every now and then, but he’s still got the game, and the personality, to be number one if he keeps working, keeps improving."
He also spoke about Gary Anderson and for Taylor he believes a return to the top could be on the cards after the Coronavirus break due to him having lots of time to regroup. "Someone like Gary Anderson will benefit from this enforced break,’ added Taylor. ‘The time at home with his family will do him a world of good – he will almost be a player reborn."
