Phil Taylor has previously hinted at a potential return to the sport which gripped the darting world but he has now ended those rumours once and for all.
Taylor said in an interview recently with LiveDarts that he can't do it anymore and that he is having a new hip done for example next year after the toll darts has taken on him.
He said that having to go to Barnsley and Wigan puts him off as he'd have to play everything so it is 'impossible' for him to now come back.
"I can't do it, I'm going to have a new hip next year. That's my treat for Christmas, in June I'm going to go in and have the operation done. It's killing me, that's 30 years of standing on one leg for six or seven hours at a time so I'm going to get that sorted out," said Taylor to LiveDarts.
'Could I come back? Not with the schedule it is now, it's impossible. People keeps saying why don't you play in the World's but you have got to qualify and to qualify you have to go Wigan, Barnsley. You have to do all the tournaments beside that and you're away from home six or seven days a week."
